Executive Coaching to support the CEO/Principal in preparing for and successfully navigating through complex and significant organisational change.
The merger of two niche Colleges resulted in inconsistent standards of leadership, management and teaching of students.
The Senior Leadership Team was overwhelmed by the gravity of the change and wasn’t functioning effectively.
External Quality Inspectors had set progress targets which had to be achieved to avoid special measures being taken.
The CEO/Principal’s attention was being dragged in to day to day survival mode rather than strategic planning & improvement.
One to One Executive Coaching focused on developing specific leadership, self management and communication skills to maximise personal and collective effectiveness and performance.
Underpinned with the EQ-i 2.0 Emotional Intelligence psychometric assessment, the focus wasn’t on ‘improving’ Emotional Intelligence per se, more on creating balance across the 15 EQ competencies. This resulted in a more focused, flexible, realistically optimistic mindset from which prudent steps could be taken to manage uncertainty and ambiguity and deliver best value for the organisation through a turbulent time.
“Having the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding about Emotional Intelligence and all its different facets has allowed me, through discussion and exploration to understand myself more as a leader and prepare and practice practical, worthwhile strategies for my future leadership career.
The EQ-i 2.0 assessment report I received was well-laid out and explained in detail specific aspects of Emotional Intelligence, and where I sit as a leader in terms of my own EQ, but it was the discussions with Scott Watson that really brought this information to life.
My coaching discussions with Scott Watson allowed an exploration on how I currently use my skillset and how more aware I can be as I continue to develop in my role of leader. I have been able to understand my default positions and why this is the case in many of the situations I am challenged with in my role as Principal and CEO. To be so much more aware of my internal tool-kit has been both powerful and helpful.
I am left feeling awakened and aware of my emotional responses and default-mind set and confident in strategies I can implement to take control of this in all future decision makings and challenging situations with others, to ensure the best possible outcomes."
